Web analytics should split the trial funnel into events

First-user validation is not one visit count; it is a sequence of explainable events.

Where the workflow shifted

Web analytics helps teams see page visits and path changes, which makes AI product trials easier to review.

At minimum, track demo views, trial starts, pricing views, waitlist joins, feedback submissions, and resource opens.

Tool names are not outcomes

The signal matters when it changes how a team ships, reviews, or recovers work, not when it only names another tool.

Check permissions and failure

  • Define six events: view_demo, start_trial, view_pricing, join_waitlist, send_feedback, open_resource
  • Keep the test narrow: one low-risk task or tool entry before connecting permissions, logs, failure handling, and human takeover to production

What still needs proof

Without event splitting, teams cannot tell whether pricing, trial friction, or value copy blocked the user. Keep the original source open so the announcement, the evidence, and this site's interpretation stay separate.
